- Excellence: in medicine and service.
- Education: of clients and staff.
- Compassion: for all creatures.
We want our animal companions to live their best lives and our human clients to have peace of mind when they choose our hospitals.
Meet the Veterinary Staff
Dr. Mike Mixon
Dr. Mike Mixon was raised in Florida. He received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Florida in 1994. He practiced in several small animal hospitals in Houston, Texas and Denver, Colorado before deciding to start Texas Veterinary Hospitals in 2002. It is his vision that is the driving force behind our mission. It is his desire to build a phenomenal veterinary company based on sound principles and good medicine. He loves surgery and internal medicine. His calm bedside manner is rarely rattled and it makes him a favorite among his patients! Especially cats who seem to love his minimal restraint techniques. He has 4 children and is married to Dr. Samantha Mixon.
Dr. Kathryn Stribley
Dr. Kathryn Stribley was born and raised in San Antonio, TX, with a two year stint in Alamogordo, NM. As a child, she wanted to grow up to be one of three things: a veterinarian, an astronaut or a Muppeteer for the Jim Henson company. She attended Texas A&M University for her undergraduate degree and graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine in 2011. She has been working at Texas Veterinary Hospital since October 2011. Her interests in the veterinary field include internal medicine, dermatology and dentistry. Her personal interests include reading, musical theater and catering to the whims of her tortoiseshell cat. She still has dreams of one day being a Muppeteer.
Dr. Kenny Brown
Born in St. Joseph, Missouri, Dr. Kenny L Brown attended Northwest Missouri State, double majoring with a BS in both Zoology and Chemistry. He earned his doctorate in veterinary medicine from the University of Missouri in Columbia, being awarded the Upjohn Diagnostic Award of his graduating class for excellence in diagnostic achievement. Dr. Brown owned and operated his own veterinary clinic in Nebraska for many years, growing it to a four-doctor large animal practice. To support his love for the great outdoors, hunting, fishing, and camping, he then moved north to Alaska where he opened a small animal clinic on Kodiak Island, Alaska. There he had the opportunity to provide veterinary services not only for the families and pets of the large commercial fishing community, members of the US Coast Guard and US Naval station, as well as the US Navy Seals Arctic Training base members and their pets, but also the Alaska Fish and Game Service in wildlife rescue support. Since 2004 he has lived and practiced in the Seattle metro area, Tucson and Phoenix AZ veterinary markets, honing his veterinary skills in advanced and specialty surgeries, orthopedics, emergency medicine, ultrasound, endoscopy and arthroscopy. Dr Brown is a member of the AVMA, the Texas VMA, and the Texas Academy of Veterinary Practitioners.
Dianna joined the Texas Veterinary Hospital family in 2008. She has always had a passion for pets and customer service. Over the years, she has been committed to creating a hospital that is dedicated to providing our patients with the best care possible and our clients with exceptional customer service. She not only wants pets to feel safe, she also wants owners to feel comfortable. Dianna feels very fortunate to have found a team that is passionate about providing that level of care. When she is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family and, of course, tending to the pets she has at home!
